Bio
Emily Sara is a Brooklyn-based indie pop and R&B artist, crossover vocalist, and storyteller whose work explores cultural and feminine identity through music, film, and performance. Classically trained in voice and opera, she began expanding her sound during and after college—writing original music and experimenting across genres and mediums, including film and experimental theater.
Her early releases, including the genre-blending visual EP Mismatch, laid the groundwork for her signature style: soulful, narrative-driven, and unconstrained by category. Now, with her forthcoming album Big Talk, Emily turns inward, leaving behind character-driven songwriting to tell her own story for the first time. The project marks a new chapter—honest, emotionally grounded, and sonically rooted in warm indie pop and smooth R&B.
Emily has performed at venues across NYC such as Pianos, Berlin Under A, Pete’s Candy Store, and Arlene’s Grocery, and will embark on an East Coast tour this fall following the album’s release.
